Hossam Selim, Received the Bachelor degree of Electrical Engineering at faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, Egypt on 2006 and got his Master degree in Laser Engineering at same University on 2012. Currently, a PhD student at department of Applied Physics at Universitat  Politecnica de Catalunya (UPC), Barcelona, Spain. The study work is collaborative between DONLL and MCIA groups at UPC university and Instituto de Investigación para la Gestión at Universitat  Politecnica de Valencia (UPV). The main focus of the study is investigating non-destructive test techniques on metallic structures using Laser-generated ultrasonics for 3D reconstruction and localization of the defects inside the materials. Meanwhile, serving as a project and research engineer at a collaborative project between Centro de Innovación y Tecnología de la UPC (CIT UPC) and Bound4blue company (spain) to develop a wind-based system of propulsion for the maritime transport that allows reducing the fuel consumption and the highly polluting emissions of the sector. previously, had a 10-year work experience in the oil field with expertise in system control and power-electronics design and troubleshooting on various oil platforms. Earlier, had participated in design and implementation of high power solid state (Nd:YAG) Laser system and cavity, High power switched-mode power supplies in addition to various projects at National Institute of Laser Enhanced Sciences-Cairo University, Egypt.
